Press Chemistry for Offset Printing

Fountain solution, roller wash, blanket wash, and plate chemistry are the consumables that keep an offset press running cleanly and consistently. The wrong chemistry — or chemistry mixed incorrectly — causes toning, stripping, emulsification, and roller glazing that eats into run time and print quality. MPS supplies press chemistry matched to modern sheetfed and web offset presses and G7-calibrated workflows.

Fountain Solutions

Fountain solution conditions the non-image areas of the plate, preventing them from accepting ink. Concentration, pH, and conductivity all matter — and they interact with your ink and paper. We stock isopropyl-alcohol (IPA) substitutes and alcohol-free fountain solutions for shops reducing VOC emissions, as well as traditional IPA-based concentrates. We can help you dial in the right concentration for your specific press and plate combination.

Roller and Blanket Wash

Press washes need to clean effectively without damaging rubber rollers, swelling blankets, or leaving residue that interferes with the next run. We supply soy-based and conventional roller washes, blanket washes, and rejuvenators. Our washes are formulated to be compatible with the roller compounds we supply, so you can source chemistry and rollers from the same vendor without compatibility guesswork.

Plate Chemistry

If you’re processing plates in-house — either thermal or violet — you need developer, gum, and finisher chemistry matched to your plate type. We stock plate chemistry for the most common plate lines used in North American commercial print shops and can source specialty chemistries on request.

UV and Specialty Chemistry

UV press cleaning requires different chemistry than conventional offset. UV washes must be compatible with your UV inks and coating systems without damaging rollers or UV lamp housings. We supply UV-specific wash products and can advise on cleaning procedures for shops running hybrid or dedicated UV press configurations.
