Sun Chemical Satin Fast Setting Varnish (KB-3027) is a high-performance overprint varnish formulated for sheetfed offset printing applications requiring a smooth, satin finish with rapid set times. Designed for use over wet or dry ink films, this varnish delivers a consistently elegant matte-to-satin sheen that enhances the appearance of printed pieces without the high gloss of traditional UV or aqueous coatings.

KB-3027 is built on a high-solids formula (91–93%) that minimizes show-through and provides excellent coverage with minimal coating weight. Its non-yellowing chemistry ensures that whites and light colors retain their brightness over time, making it an ideal choice for premium packaging, marketing collateral, annual reports, and commercial print applications where color integrity is critical.

The oxidative dry mechanism allows the varnish to cure in 2–3 hours at 0.5 mil film thickness on glass, enabling fast turnaround on press and efficient bindery scheduling. The varnish is rated non-imprintable, providing a consistent surface that resists subsequent printing or writing — ideal for finished goods that do not require post-printing personalization.
